Mysterious death in military causes concern

General maung Aye's PSO dies under unclear circumstances Lieutenant Colonel Bo Win Tun, an assistant to the deputy head of state Vice Senior General Maung Aye, died on Friday. The circumstances of his death are unclear.

Meanwhile, the trials are reported to have begun in Burma of many alleged close associates of the former prime minister Khin Nyunt, who was deposed last October by Burma's military rulers who accused him of abuse of power.

A Burma watcher told the BBC that the current situation calls for concern as reports are rife about the rift in the military. He said if General Khin Nyunt were to be tried, the court session should be open to public.
